What is the Rift?



In the void of all things during the Creation that now is, the collision of
atoms and all raw elemental building blocks that created life in the universe…
Power surged and hummed through the vast empty space as it violently
began to rush and fill with the opposite, creation.
As simple structures begin to form, into more complex structures… which build into complex systems, and more complex organisms, and kingdoms. The universe hummed and pulsed with underlying energy could be more connected to deep thought, than felt consciously by the autonomous life forms that began to sprout forth.
Within these hums also run powerful waves of energy, similar to cosmic gamma radiation. The very same radiation that has come to be known to power the mysterious ‘portals’ and ‘gateways’ that are the one-way doors to the “RIFT”…or Exodus Realm. A pocket dimension established the creation of itself to which thousands upon thousands of spontaneous one-way connecting portals open, and empty into this a self-sustaining dimension, or established reality.
This one ‘Reality’ ties together all known realities and dimensions to one constant ‘entangled’ variable, where it can exist together within the RIFT; theoretically within the realm of chaos and probability. The only problem is, that all of the doors open externally naturally, for a very short period of time; they never originate within the Exodus plane, or “RIFT”. But all ‘theoretical’ multiverse worlds are connected to this particular, and very special Exodus Realm.
Outlandish, fairy tale things you may have never thought to be true, or nightmarish in nature… may be lurking in someone’s alternate reality situation in a very real fashion waiting on the other side of a portal. Xenomorphs, Space Marines, Halo Spartans, Orcs, Yautja, Warhammer 40k, Mandalorians, Rebel Alliances, Cylons; not to mention people and civilizations from the Revelations or Revelations: Fertile Crescent multiverses and all throughout histories that may be considered ‘lost in time’, being Exodus Realm doesn’t constrain to Time Travel limitations either. To some of us, these are pop culture references… but so for others, the source material was all too real to see; to then scribble with a pen to make some coin and gain popularity in the process. Some thought it was crazy… say dreams are the windows into our multiversal lives.
The Exodus plane, or “RIFT”, is a Dimensional pocket that exists outside of the normal constraints of space and time. So things seem to affect all matter (organic, and inorganic) differently than in most universes where most people are refugees from; despite the very rare situations that might not be so different condition-wise.
Within the unique and interesting natural ecosystem of the Exodus Plane exists there are exotic and primal events that form. In an ultra purification process of normal elements, most travelers would find them on their homeworlds. These elements are represented as Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Wood, Metal, and Soul. These elements are incredibly powerful sources of raw natural energy.
Most of these elements appear to have a dormant power source, as well as an unlockable feature of increased potential; in some cases dangerously concerning if not given due respect of wielding such effect of power, without means of safe control.

In the Exodus plane, or the “RIFT”, several factions have popped up and gained popularity due to a person's beliefs or path they desire to follow in life here. The 3 more notable paths you may recognize between people are quite noticeable…

Divergents: This group of refugees wishes to return to their respective worlds & times. Some wish to reveal the hidden secrets and powers of the Rift; Most others just wish to set things right and return to their time.
The assumed collective goal is to evacuate all who choose to leave the Rift behind.

Children of the Rift: These settlers believe that the “RIFT” is a part of the ‘natural progression’ of ‘the’ World, and it is NOT to be deviated from.
These Cultists believe that the “RIFT” is to be protected & preserved at all costs. They actively seek to stop attempts to study, or access any ‘artificial’ openings of their Holy and sacred portals and doorways within the Exodus Realm; that only unpredictability, and naturally appear otherwise.

Miscreants: These drifters of the land are a faction of ambivalent individuals who find themselves on neither side of the Exodus Realm political storm; they don’t honestly care too much either way.
They could care less if they go home, they sure don’t see the ‘crazy’ science anomalies as a religion, or a cult either… They make the best of the newfound ‘misfortune they have found themselves in. By the ways of mercenaries' duties, and all other ways of sticking it to those who want to conform in some way or another. They want to live their lives freely to do as they wish… perhaps stir some pots, and anger ‘the - children’, well because they can.
